02 feb I just wanna be honest while I have the courage,
I guess everyone has a person he or she loves to listen to. An individual, an icon, a famous person or whatever it might be called. Two or three years ago I watched the documentary of Tony Robbins on Netflix and I loved it, straight away. He’s definitely not my GURU and well .. He doesn’t even wants to be. Why I love Tony Robbins so much? I guess it has everything to do with his way of being. Raw. Unpolished. Straight-fucking-forward.
“You just fucking begun, and you’re not gonna fuck it up”, Tony Robbins
I have to admit that I love the TABOO language Tony uses. It’s a way for Tony to bring the person in front of him, or the participants in his events, back to reality. He literally BREAKS the expacted pattern. Tony never seems to be struggling for words that contain some honesty, he just speaks or should I say preach? He strips away all the bullshit by asking bullseye-questions. There’s never a delay in his answer and he always seems to be able to find the right words, the right questions, not too much .. Never to many.
Eliminate all the bullshit and focus on what you know
Tony knows exactly what he wants. He’s focussed and extremely aware of the fact that if you don’t have something to move towards, you’ll settle for where things are. That’s the reason why he claims that individuals who want to join his seminars or business events .. Have to be hungry. “If you aren’t hungry, then don’t even think about coming”. An intensity that definitely matches mine. You’re eather in or out, there’s just no in between.
The right dosis, delivered like a ton of bricks
While watching the docu, particular moments made me raise my eyebrows, a total disbelief. It’s fascinating how there’s just never any judgement in Tony’s questions. Never will you be able to hear the eye roll in his reply. A genuine connection, combined with those bullseye-questions, only to deepen your understanding .. That what it’s just all about. And it’s necessary. Especially because we live in a time so full of contagious emptiness.
Tony is able to tell you something without actually saying it
And even if you force all you will into denial, Tony will break right through it. Whatever you hold in your mind on a consistent basis is exactly what you will experience in your life, right? So rather than to teach a individual what to think, focus on teaching ‘how’ to think. And if for a certain reason you want to teach an individual what to think .. You’ll end up saying: “Life is found in the dance between your deepest desire and your greatest fear”, “No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying”.
Stay committed to your decisions, but stay flexible in your approach
“You’re gonna take the time to fully develop and you’re gonna find a way to enjoy a little bit along the way.”
